Age factors convert your result into the equivalent open-class (20–29) performance, so runners of different ages can be compared fairly — and you can track your true fitness over the years.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is age grade % used?
After converting to an open-class equivalent, your result is compared with the age-group world best: 70% is solid, 80% regional class, 90% near world class.
Are factors the same for men and women?
WMA publishes separate tables per gender. This version uses a simplified approximation and should be replaced with both tables.
Why did my age-graded time get faster?
That is expected — the factor is below 1 for masters runners, so converting back to open class makes the time "faster".
